Event Details

We’re just a few days away from our Hall CountyTweet & Greet @ Road Atlanta!

And if you’re like me, then your excited about seeing some old Twitter/Facebook friends and meeting new ones in real life for the first time.

Plus getting an opportunity to get a tour of the facility and pics with some cool race cars (definitely a family event!)

What is a “Tweet Up”?

Tweet up’s are a great way to meet people that you have connected with via Twitter, Facebook (or other social media site)! Whether it is business or social, these are fun!

Usually, you connect with someone online after you have met them in person.  But this event gives people the opportunity to meet beyond cyberspace. One hundred and forty characters can only be used for so long. This event is the time to meet face to face.

Not on twitter or don’t understand it?

It doesn’t matter. Come to learn and find out what EVERYONE has been talking about!

Be sure to bring your laptop or mobile device :)  We only do these at Wi-Fi enabled facilities and Road Atlanta has it going on for us!

 HASHTAG for this event!

The official hashtag for all Hall County Tweetup’s is #GVTweet.  Whether you are tweeting it or letting people know about it on Facebook, build enthusiasm by putting #GVTweet at the end of the message.  For example…

Things to do to get ready!

  1. Gear up! Whether you have a twitter or facebook shirt or hat, or want to put on your racing colors, get excited about the event and wear it!
  2.  Update your Twitter & Facebook profiles – You’re going to meet new twitter friends, make sure your twitter bio is updated and has a link going to your company website or blog.  Don’t have a blog?  No problem. Link it to your Facebook page.   Also you may want to update your profile picture and bio description. @johnpanico profile is cool.
  3. Update your blog: If you haven’t posted in a while, you might want to post something new especially if your twitter profile links to your blog. At the least, tell folks how excited you are to attend this tweetup!
  4. Have your business cards ready: Do I need to explain this one?   Check out the Dudes cards if you want to stand out.  (http://www.zazzle.com)
  5. Charge your devices: This one really applies to me but charge your mobile phone, camcorders and camera batteries. Tweetups are known for a lot of texting and pictures being taken.
  6. Bring your non-twitter friends who don’t get it: I’ve heard so many people say they don’t get twitter or see the value of using it. Bring them to the tweetup to listen to how others use twitter. Bring them to me and I will get them right J
  7. Bring your store items: If you sell twitter (or other social networking  t-shirts or in this case race wear) it might be a good idea to put some in the trunk of your car!  You will do better if you wear yours and people would like to purchase one.
  8. Get some rest the night before: The tweetup is scheduled for 3 hours but there is usually an after tweet-up drink location that you can continue the party.   Tweeple (attendees…come on…get into the lingo) are known to hangout late and continue the conversations.
